Donate in Honour of Very Rev. Fr Macarius Wahba
‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’ Matthew 25:21
Fr Macarius was ordained in March 1993 to serve the parish of St Mary’s Coptic Orthodox Church in Melbourne. His ministry was always filled with sacrifice, wisdom, dedication and love for all.
His love and service to the poor was evident as he led and established St Abraam Friends of the poor service which has since evolved into what is now known as Coptic Hope Charity.
In addition to his local parish service Fr Macarius Wahba was appointed Vicar General to the diocese of Melbourne from 2009 – 2018 and was Registrar of St Athanasius College.
Fr Macarius will always be remembered for his Christ-like kind and gentle nature which will be missed by the many generations that are indebted to him for his service and ministry.
Fr Macarius is survived by his wife Christina, his mother Fayza, brother Joseph and his family.
May God rest his pure soul in the bosom of our fathers Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
